January 02 – Theres Hope

Conflict & Courage: January 2nd

• God left the failures of His people in Scripture on purpose—to warn us, teach us, and give us hope.

• Correction is not rejection; the exposure of sin is evidence of God’s desire to save, not condemn.

• The same God who restored Israel, David, and the apostles is just as powerful to save today—there is hope.

“Now these things… were written down to warn us who are living at the end of the age.” — 1 Corinthians 10:11 (Phillips)

January 01 – That We May Be Encouraged

Conflict & Courage: January 1st

“All those words which were written long ago are meant to teach us today… that we may be encouraged to go on hoping in our own time.” — Romans 15:4 (Phillips)

The Bible does not tell sanitized stories of perfect people—it records the real lives of real men and women. From Adam to the apostles, Scripture presents an honest account of faith, failure, repentance, and restoration. The inspired writers did not hide human weakness or soften moral failure. Instead, they told the truth, even when that truth revealed the frailty of those God greatly used. And that honesty is one of the strongest evidences of Scripture’s authenticity. 📖✨

If the Bible had been written merely to impress, it would have painted flawless portraits of faultless saints. But God chose a better way. He allowed us to see the struggles, the falls, and the inner conflicts of His servants—the continual warfare between the flesh and the spirit. These stories were not written to discourage us, but to remind us that God works with imperfect people who are willing to rise again by His grace. ⚔️🕊️

This is why Scripture encourages the weary heart. Those whom God entrusted with great responsibility sometimes failed, just as we do. Yet by God’s mercy, they were strengthened to rise again and continue the journey of faith. Their stories whisper hope to us today: You are not alone. You are not disqualified. And by God’s grace, you can rise again. Remembering this, we are ready to renew the conflict and press forward in hope. 🌅💖
