Maranatha - The lord is coming: August 13th

August 13 - Impressions, Feelings, and Drugs 💭💉 | When the Spirit Isn’t What It Seems

Join Christian each day for a deep read through an amazing devotional about the last days and the return of Jesus Christ! Today's topic is titled: “Impressions, Feelings, and Drugs”

“Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” – Psalm 119:104

Not every feeling is from God. In today’s devotional, we dive into a vital warning for these deceptive days: Satan can mimic spirituality with false impressions, intense emotions, and even chemically induced “visions.” Our senses and emotions—if not tested by the Word—can become tools of confusion, especially in a culture addicted to emotional highs and quick fixes.

True spirituality doesn’t bypass the brain. Many are led astray by ecstatic experiences and “new light” that turns out to be nothing more than drug-induced delusion or unsanctified emotionalism. The devil loves to wrap deception in a spiritual-looking package. If the so-called blessing leads us away from the Word and obedience, it’s not a blessing—it’s a counterfeit.

This message is a sobering call to sobriety, discernment, and rootedness in the Word of God. Emotion, experience, and sensation are not our guides—truth is. Let’s resist the dangerous lure of sensational religion and return to the firm foundation of God’s precepts. His truth doesn’t just feel good—it sets us free.
